Pizza Crosta is slated to open Mon., May 18 at 5590 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. The latest venture from and Sam Abdullah and the team behind Buckhead Pizza Company, the affordable eatery will offer 10-inch custom-order pies made from fresh ingredients, as well as sides like “crosta dessert sticks.” Also look for a pizza crust dipping station.

Billy Streck and Drew Van Leuvan, owners of Midtown’s Grain restaurant and bar, are planning to open a new eatery called Tavernpointe in the former home of LPC at 1545 Peachtree St. this summer. The food will comprise “elevated American cuisine,” while the beverage program is being developed by Seven Lamps’ Madison Burch, and will include creative cocktails, wines and craft beer. Meanwhile, Streck is still readying to open Hampton & Hudson at Inman Quarter this fall. Details as they arise.

Tucker, Georgia-based grocery-delivery service Nature’s Garden Express is coming to Krog Street Market (99 Krog St.). Marking the company’s first brick-and-mortar outpost, it will occupy a 410-square-foot stall stocking fresh produce, eggs, milk, bread, cold-pressed juices, prepared foods, nut butters, olive oils, kombuchas, and more. Later this year, locals can also look forward to pickup options for the popular delivery service offered by owners Michael Kirk and Scott Frishman.


Kale Me Crazy, which just debuted its Decatur location on April 29, is slated to open its third outpost in Midtown at SkyHouse South (100 6th St.) (H/T to Eater). The cold-pressed juice shop’s website currently lists the location as “under construction.”

A new Indian street food spot called Masti is now open in Toco Hills (2945 North Druid Hills Road). Serving delicacies like kabab dogs, chicken momo, chick pea flour-battered fish ’n’ chips, spiced keema burgers, and saffron rice pudding, it offers a color-splashed interior and Bollywood tunes galore.


The owners of Sandy Springs’ Breadwinner Cafe have officially filed plans to open Farm to Ladle in the Central Food Hall of Ponce City Market (675 Ponce de Leon Ave.), What Now Atlanta reports. The “European-style cafe and farmstead” from husband-and-wife duo Katie and Geoff Melkonian will serve locally sourced produce, with herbs and spices, sandwiches, soups, and salads. Look for a debut later in 2015. Details as they arise.

Proof Bakeshop, the latest concept from the folks behind Cakes and Ale, will soft-open on Monday, May 18 at 100 Hurt St. in Inman Park. Helmed by head bakers David Garcia and Abigail Quinn, it will offer a melange of pastries, breakfast and lunch items, breads, bars, Counter Culture coffee, and more.


Another new juice shop has entered the city by way of Nashville: the newly opened I Love Juice Bar in Druid Hills (2957 North Druid Hills Road). Serving a menu of greens and roots, power shots, smoothies, essential oils, and “mix your own” options, it celebrates ingredients like ginger, kale, almond milk, bee pollen, flax oil, and more. Suwanee and Virginia-Highland locations are reportedly on the horizon. Details as they arise.

Paces & Vine executive chef and co-owner Ian Winslade has been promoted to culinary director for both the (4300 Paces Ferry Road) Vinings eatery and its Virginia-Highland predecessor, Murphy’s (997 Virginia Ave.). Blackberry Farm alum Ryan Burger has been tapped to take over as chef de cuisine at the former, while Ricky Navas will continue to cook at the latter. Winslade told Atlanta magazine that he’s also considering communities like Woodstock, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, or the Westside for future restaurant ventures. Details as they arise.
