BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER: WonderRoot's September Artist and Maker Market welcomes earthlings and beyond.

Often, we think of art as expensive paintings in a museum — difficult to understand and relate to emotionally. While the works that cover the walls of museums are beautiful, WonderRoot’s September Artist and Maker Market returns on Sept. 2 to connect the community with artists who work outside the boundaries of museums. The market highlights skills of several local artists and showcases original and vibrant works. Visit Ponce City Market from noon-6 p.m. to view stalls full of crafty, handmade goods including prints, pins, zines, stickers, jewelry, bath and body products, and more. WonderRoot, an Atlanta-based arts organization that strives to better the cultural and social landscape of our city through community partnerships and creative initiatives, welcomes guests to engage with creatives to connect with the arts while supporting deserving individuals. This act of collaboration fits perfectly in line with the overall purpose of the market, which strives to enrich and diversify the community through sharing artistic works. Whether it be for a shopping spree or a bit of inspiration, take a stroll through The Shed — the market’s outdoor covered platform off the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail — and take part in the plethora of activities while appreciating the work of up-and-coming artists.

Free. Noon-6 p.m. Sun., Sept. 2. Ponce City Market, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave. N.E. https://www.wonderroot.org/artist-market-at-ponce-city-market/.
