If you’re supposed to wear what the fashion designers wear, then you should watch what the comics watch. Gary Gulman’s crisp social commentary wrapped up in underlying neurotic tones has made him a favorite among comedy elite, like Conan O’Brien. He’s one of the few comics to have performed on every late-night TV show. The New Yorker celebrated 20 years in the game with the release of his third stand-up special, “It’s About Time,” released via Netflix in April. He’s sold out Boston’s 1,200-seat Wilbur Theatre, and he’s poised to follow suit all three nights at the intimate Laughing Skull this week.
