Fit of Body does some good natured loitering in 'Walking'

Ryan Parks readies new EP on his own Harsh Riddims imprint

When we last heard from Ryan Parks, Fit of Body had just dropped the Emotional Suspect/For Sisters Only cassingle on his Harsh Riddims imprint. Now, the lackadaisical producer who wears his heart plainly on his sleeve returns with a new video from an upcoming EP titled Health is Wealth Vol.1.

"Walking" is roughly three minutes of narcotic R&B and bedroom lo-fi, recorded in a daze of heartbreak and self-reflection. Parks embarks on an aimless stroll, feeling entirely numb and guilty for some unknown reason. You can't help but join the pity party and groove to the strung-out vibe that's on par with Chromatics' retro-seduction and Dean Blunt or Inga Copeland's (previously known as Hype Williams) distant allure. The video perfectly plays up Parks' character: A hometown hero who skates the Baker Street overpass like any other normal dude. Sometimes he lands his attempts, sometimes he doesn't. But he keeps at it, content with the experience and the trials of the sport.

As the video draws to a close, the narrative dissolves into a dreamlike state, drifting its focus in a slow motion pan over the faces that wander into frame.
