Record Store Day 2016 has rolled out its official list of releases, including some worthwhile fundraising tied to the Sat., April 16 event.

RSD ambassadors Metallica are heading efforts to benefit the victims of the Nov. 13, 2015 shooting at the Bataclan in Paris, donating proceeds from the Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite, Metallica! – Live at Le Bataclan CD. It would be easy to scoff at a CD release on Record Store Day, featuring recordings from the Saint Anger days. But hey, it’s for a great cause. In addition, 7-inch releases by Twenty One Pilots, the Doors, and Anthrax will honor Disquaire Day, the French version of Record Store Day.

Other standouts include a triple LP version of Emmylou Harris’ 1995 Grammy winner Wrecking Ball, box sets from the Monkees and Lush, and METZ and Mission of Burma covering each other on a limited Sub Pop 7-inch.

There are too many quality releases to list here, so check the official list for reasons to stand in line all morning.

Beyond the many keepers on the list are represses of albums most collectors already own such as Jimi Hendrix’s Smash Hits, novelty items like a Millennium Falcon picture disc, and harsh reminders from decades gone by via Sublime and Linkin Park.

Hiccups aside, it’s a pretty stacked year.
