La Mongerie Bakery Deux, the new Ponce bakery from The Next Food Network Star’s Brianna Jenkins, will have it’s soft opening on November 7. They will be open for breakfast and lunch. This is the first of two locations, the larger one will be in the spot that previously housed Agnes and Muriel’s.

Tomorrow’s News Today reports on Yum Bunz, and Chow Down Atlanta confirms at Miso Izakaya’s Guy Wong is partnering with the Real Chow Baby’s Mike Blum on the project. Yum Bunz, will specialize in Chinese steamed buns, and the plan is to open in West Midtown on Marietta Street in May.

Howell Mill Food Park announced via Facebook that they’ll be appearing on The Cooking Channel show Eat Street. The show’s crew will visit five spots around Atlanta, including a stop at the Food Park on November 12 from 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (wannabe reality stars welcome). Tex’s Tacos will be featured, along with other trucks.

Burger Tap, opening this month in Morningside, sent out some additional information on what they say makes their gourmet burger joint better than all the rest. Apparently, the key is simplicity. Their menu may have less choices than some other spots around town, but they claim that their “well-edited” selection of only four burgers (yep) will be all you need to reach burger nirvana.
