In two years, Wrecking Bar Brewpub has created more than 120 different beers. That’s 1.15 new beers every week. The Inman Park brewpub offers up a wood-aged brew every Wednesday, a cask selection every Friday, and a rotating tap lineup of 10-15 fantastic and stylistically varied beers, all made in-house by owner and head brewer Bob Sandage. The bracing, resinous Hop Noggin Imperial IPA and the big-dark-and-boozy Siberius Maximus Russian Imperial Stout are standouts. And judging by early tastes at the brewpub’s recent two-year anniversary, Wrecking Bar’s upcoming Flanders Red will be a welcome addition to a Georgia market all but completely lacking in sour beers. The establishment recently expanded to include a beer garden, and has started distributing to select bars and retail shops in Atlanta, Athens, and Savannah, which means you can enjoy the beers with a meal or from a growler on your couch. The brewpub’s frequently praised cocktail program and revamped menu - courtesy of former Farm Burger chef Terry Koval - has elevated Wrecking Bar to household-name status.

When you imagine the mead halls and bier gardens of lore, you imagine a place as mammoth as 5 SEASONS BREWING’s lodgelike complex in Sandy Springs’ Prado Shopping Center. Of course, the only invading hordes at 5 Seasons are suburbanites or weekend warriors, but that doesn’t mean 5 Seasons doesn’t brew up the finest in liquid courage. The hops and the malts live in harmony within 5 Seasons’ 20 revolving seasonal offerings on tap, which draw primarily on German techniques but don’t neglect the Belgians. Equally balanced are the German, Japanese and American influences feeding the accomplished menu, making for a rich and rounded fusion. “5600 Roswell Road, Suite 21. 404-255-5911. www.5seasonsbrewing.com”

Brewmaster Glen Sprouse crafts impeccable German-style lagers and Chef David Larkworthy turns out exciting fusion dishes, making FIVE SEASONS BREWING COMPANY a perfect place for a full night out. The signature Seven Sisters Munchner (rich, with a malty finish) is good to the last drop every time. If beer/food pairings aren’t listed, most servers can recommend which beverage from the current selection - kolsch, stout, porter, pale ale, pilsner - pair wells with calamari, an artisan cheese plate, grilled pizzas, lamb tenderloin, or shrimp and scallop pasta. “5600 Roswell Road, Suite 21. 404-255-5911. www.5seasonsbrewing.com.”
