The goal for Little Bear has always been to open something unique to Atlanta: a small restaurant. The type you might stumble across in a larger food city like San Francisco, DC, New York... a little hole in the wall with barely any seats, a small staff and food & bev way too good for how casual the place is. Fine dining can frankly be unapproachable for a number of reasons (price, pomp, pretense, attitude, formality...) so we decided to try and do something different, to offer the quality ingredients and attention to detail of fine dining restaurant but in a more casual, comfortable setting in the heart of a great neighborhood. After years of hashing out plans, searching for the perfect space with character in a great neighborhood and trying to find the right investors, in December of 2018 we finally found our home in Summerhill on Georgia Avenue!
We source all of our fresh product from local farms, serving food with a hyper seasonal focus which creates a constantly evolving menu. Our beverage program is geared towards transparency so that we can help demystify some of the nonsense guests have to decipher in larger restaurants. Buying wine and spirits from producers that we know share the same quality standards for their final product, employees and land that we do is one way we can provide transparency, as well as from having a small, caring staff eager to help answer any questions you have. This little restaurant is our home and it is our absolute pleasure to welcome you in, take care of you and (hopefully) feed you as often as possible.
