In less than a month, the first-ever Ladyfest Atlanta will showcase a variety of local talent — artists, musicians, and more — with a focus on women and gender nonconformists.
Last week, Ladyfest’s organizers announced a strong musical lineup, with highlights of Mariah Johnson’s hazy shoegaze project Woven In, dream pop group Factory, and Saira Raza (formerly of Waking Astronomer), and many others.
The feminist, leftist festival also features different types of performances, visual art exhibitions, workshops, and more. Its mission is to “celebrate and encourage community while also precipitating dialogue and education around anti-oppression work and action in Atlanta, especially as it relates to women’s rights,” according to its website.
The festival takes place the weekend of March 20-22, and performances will be held at multiple venues, including the Mammal Gallery, Eyedrum, and the Big House On Ponce.
All three days of Ladyfest will be free and open to the public.
