Athens-native of Montreal takes over the Masquerade tonight (Thurs., May 14). Kevin Barnes and co. headline the night, playing songs from the group’s latest album, Aureate Gloom (Polyvinyl).

Tonight’s opening act Icky Blossoms might just steal the show, though. The three-piece electro-pop outfit, lead by Derek Pressnall of Tilly and the Wall and Flowers Forever, is showing off songs from its latest offering, Mask (Saddle Creek). The album’s first two singles, “Living in Fiction” and “In folds,” break from the band’s typically dream-pop sounds for a detour into neo-disco, showing off a growing love for synthesizers.

$20. 8 p.m. Masquerade, 695 North Ave N.E. 404-577-8178. www.masq.com.
