The ATL Collective plays ‘Ram’
Tonight’s performers include Lera Lynn, Adron, Cicada Rhythm, and Sleepy Guest.
When Paul and Linda McCartney released their collaborative album Ram in 1971, critical reception proclaimed it a massive failure. Here’s to time and perspective, then, because Ram’s a terrific, fun, playful and not-nearly-as-lightweight-as-it-seems album from one of pop’s most creative minds.
The ATL Collective, a gathering of local musicians, recreates entire albums for its monthly performance. (They’ve done Thriller, they’ve done Elton John’s Tumbleweed Connection, etc.) Tonight it’s Ram and its songs “Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey,” “Eat at Home,” and “The Back Seat of My Car.” Performers include Lera Lynn, Adron, Cicada Rhythm, and Sleepy Guest.
Tonight (Fri., Jan. 24). Elliot Street Deli & Pub. 51 Elliott St. 404-523-2174.
