Five Spot to close after three final shows
Things are in the works for the location to be reopening as a new venue soon. Stay tuned for more.
On Tuesday, March 5, Bryan Aust, owner of the Little Five Points music venue the Five Spot, will close its doors after nearly 12 years of bringing intimate local shows to the neighborhood. Maybe you were at the Five Spot in May 2011 when Del tha Funkee Homosapien played a free show. Or perhaps you were hooked on Barry Wright's stand-up comedy on Tuesday nights. Whatever your attachment to the L5P dive, prepare your goodbyes.
The Five Spot will host three final shows starting tonight. This evening's showcase will include performances by Mercury Orkestar, Norman Frank & the Ghost Dance, and Bahnhof from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. An open all-star jam will follow, including surprise appearances from musicians throughout Atlanta.
Mike Silverman, better known as That 1 Guy, plays Sat., March 2.
The final show takes place Mon., March 4, with performances by Prentice Suspensions and Syrens of the South, in addition to music by Ledfoot Messiah and the Little Five Points Rockstar Orchestra.
