Mighty High Coup to shoot booty bass ‘Boom’ video at the Clermont
Backbone, Mayhem, Killer and the Savage and DJ Frankie D are making cameos in the video, and you can too
Mighty High Coup is setting up to shoot a new video for “Boom” at the Clermont Lounge tomorrow night (Wednesday, April 6) at 6 p.m. Backbone of Dungeon Family fame, Mayhem, Killer and the Savage and DJ Frankie D are all making cameos in the video, and you can too. Filming starts at 6 p.m. and it’s free until 9 p.m. when the $5 cover kicks in.
So what’s the song about?
“SOS was spinning some booty shake when we were getting ready for our 808 night and he played this MC Nas-D & DJ Freaky Fred song called ‘It’s My Cadillac (Got That Bass),’ and I said that sample will make a cool song that will be super simple and totally crunk,” recalls Mighty High rapper Ricky Raw. “It’s a bonus that it’s at a dubstep tempo. It’s basically a follow up to our song, “808.” It’s rap about rap — we’re basically just talking about how our shit knocks and yours does not.”
Does the video have a premise? “Just bass and booty...”
