Night Sun (feat. Cole Alexander of Black Lips) debuts tonight
New soul-inspired collab. plays its first public gig tonight at 529
Tonight, Black Lips singer/guitarist Cole Alexander and Curtis Harding — Cee Lo Green’s former back-up singer/writer — turn out a rare performance of their spooky, low-fi soul project, Night Sun. In fact this is their first live gig together and they’ve put together a ragtag ensemble of local players to fill out the sound for the night.
?
Over the last several months Harding and Alexander have been slowly crafting an EP that they’ve slated for release sometime in the middle of next year — 2012 y’all.
?
In the meantime, here’s the first sneak peak at what they’ve got up their sleeve titled “On My Way.”

Bradford Cox is opening the show with a reportedly improv jazz-inspired set. Most of the people performing tonight will get a few minutes on the turntables between sets as well.
?
Could be one of those historic nights ...
