Wiz Khalifa brings 'Black and Yellow' to Atlanta

It was almost overnight that a slim, tatted-up wordsmith took over the Internet with his odes to Chuck Taylors, kush and light-skinned girls who smoke it. Presently climbing the commercial radio charts and BET's "106th & Park" video countdown is Wiz Khalifa's hometown anthem "Black and Yellow" — for the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins, of course — off his untitled debut album.

Known for live ustreams involving his drug of choice and more than 1 million downloads of his most recent mixtapes (Star Power, Flight School, Burn After Rolling and Kush and Orange Juice), the Pittsburgh native is well on his way. After being selected as a 2000 XXL magazine freshman — the same list that featured Wale, J Cole and Atlanta's B.o.B. — he was almost immediately signed to Atlantic Records.

After dismissing an invitation to tour with Drizzy Drake earlier this year, he kicked off the Waken Baken Tour featuring Alabama's latest enigma (and this week's featured artist in CL) Yelawolf. ?
The latest occurrence to signal Khalifa's mainstream emergence: Hometown anthem maker (OK, so it's been a while) Jermaine Dupri hopping on Wiz's instrumental to rep for Atlanta with "Black and Red" — even though the Thrashers and Hawks official colors aren't necessarily black and red ...
