Dish, Dirt and Drivel - Reality Bites

TV Talk: Atlanta has suffered its share of reality television “stars.” But the city hasn’t had the privilege of hosting one of these hit shows - until now. Soon, Atlanta will claim three reality series. The eight-episode “Single in the City: Atlanta,” currently airing on the Women’s Entertainment Network, is following 10 unhitched Southern belles as they try to reel in a man. But the real fun starts June 30 on Bravo, when “Being Bobby Brown” begins documenting six months in the life of the notorious bad boy and his equally infamous wife, Whitney Houston. Dish also hears that MTV’s Real World will finally pick seven people to inhabit a house here in Atlanta. No word on when Season 17 will begin filming, but Dish predicts plenty of public drunkenness to be shot in Buckhead Village.

Celeb talk: June 15 was the first day of shooting for Killer Mike’s new video for the song “My Chrome,” his lead single from Big Boi’s Purple Ribbon label. Shooting started at the strip club Magic City. During subsequent filming, in the plaza next to Neal’s Custom Paint & Body Shop on Columbia Drive in Decatur, Big Boi was driving a ghetto classic car with Killer Mike in the passenger seat. Big Boi’s own cherry Phantom Rolls Royce was on the set - guarded, of course.

Bar Talk: Dish hears that the cheap and trendy Figo Pasta chain will soon open Cafe Bar Centrale at its Osteria del Figo location on Howell Mill Road. Housed in the same building but run as a separate business, Cafe Bar Centrale will serve coffee drinks and - more importantly - will feature a full bar.
