APD: Detained 19-year-old suspect allegedly responsible for dozens of 'FORTE' graffiti tags
Police say suspect marked up walls in Castleberry Hill, Old Fourth Ward, and Kirkwood
Atlanta Police say they have caught a graffiti tagger whom they allege has illegally marked more than 30 walls.
Oliver Roberts, a 19-year-old Decatur resident, was arrested over the weekend and charged with three counts of criminal trespassing and one count of second-degree criminal damage to property. According to APD, Roberts had spray painted his "FORTE" tag 36 documented times in several different neighborhoods.
"Mr. Roberts has been actively tagging for at least 2 years and predominately tagged in the Castleberry Hill, Old Fourth Ward, and Kirkwood neighborhoods," APD spokesman John Chafee tells CL.
APD Graffiti Abatement Officer Brad Etterle took the alleged tagger into custody at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Roberts had flown in from Canada and was attempting to make his way through U.S. Customs when the warrants were discovered.
Roberts, who was previously arrested in 2012 for criminal trespassing, was transferred to Fulton County Jail and later released on $11,000 bond.
