Dashboard Co-op revealed their exhibiting artists for 2014 today. While details for their latest exhibition remain scarce, the new list of exhibiting artists gives plenty of interesting information to chew on.
Elizabeth Riley, David Greber, Paper Frank, Chris Chambers, Zopi Kristjanson, George Long, Jason Peters, Andre Keichian, Martha Whittington, Kevin Byrd, Lindsey Wolkowicz, and CL’s own assistant photo editor Dustin Chambers will be part of an exhibition next February in a yet to be announced location in Downtown Atlanta,
The innovative curatorial duo, Courtney Hammond and Beth Malone, have established Dashboard as an arts organization with entreprenuerial angle. By pairing emerging or established artists with disused or forgotten urban spaces, they’ve created events that both bring attention to the artists, foot traffic to vacant space, and, in the best cases, new tenants to their venues. As Debbie Michaud noted in her feature about the organization earlier this year, every vacant space included in their 2011 art walk, Ground Floor, was leased following the exhibition. It even may have influenced our own publication. Creative Loafing’s offices now reside in the space that last year’s Boom City exhibition happened.
