Wasn’t there something in the Bible in relation to Jesus praying in the desert for 40 days and 40 nights? Well, his prayers were obviously answered because OutKast’s 20-year anniversary reunion tour begins tomorrow, Fri., April 10. And it’s also kicking off in some desert called Coachella (Indio, Calif.) and covering 40 stops across the continent.

Seriously, that can’t be mere coincidence can it? Talk about the second coming.

Depending on your level of OutKast nerd-dome, you might appreciate this project several of us at CL put together this week. “Straight Outta Stankonia” is a look at the evolution of Atlanta through the lens of OutKast over the last 20 years. #ATL20. More OutKast facts: When Big and Dre play the nearby CounterPoint Festival on April 27, it’ll be almost 20 years to the day of their Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik debut release date. (Yeah, I could go all day long with these.)

But back to the reason for this post. In the process of researching, I came across the video embedded below. It’s a behind-the-scenes spoof of what the Stankonia album cover shoot might’ve been back in 2000. Even though it’s two years old, which is like 40 in Internet years, I had to post because it’s so damn hilarious. In my humble opinion, their onstage reunion will be a grand success if it’s anything north of this:
