PaperFrank set to 'Blossom' this Easter with Dashboard

?The first time PaperFrank had a solo show in Atlanta, the exhibit space in the basement of a converted Baptist church on the Westside couldn't contain the crowd. Back in July 2013, the Atlanta-based artist debuted his Pink Lemonade exhibit at Blue Mark Studios to an opening-night turnout of more than 3,000. Those who weren't already familiar with his colorful, anime-inspired aesthetic — including such friends, followers and former City of Ink tattoo customers as Jermaine Dupri, Trinidad James and others — certainly got word that the young creative had arrived.

?This spring PaperFrank returns when his second solo exhibit, appropriately titled Blossom, opens on Sat., April 4 at Dashboard's gallery spaces at 31 and 33 North Ave. Presented in conjunction with Dashboard, Blossom will feature his traditional paintings and newer three-dimensional installations of his signature characters. Show sponsors will include Puma, Wish Foundation, and MailChimp. Here's more from the exhibit narrative:
??? His first solo show in almost two years, “Blossom” is the blooming of a long period of underground growth by the infamous Atlanta-based artist. An artist above the curve and on the fringe of trend, PaperFrank has managed to increase his visibility and fan base by touring the U.S. painting murals and participating in group shows, while simultaneously quietly building his artistic skill and vision since his last solo show in July 2013.

? With the help of Dashboard, PaperFrank will transform two juxtaposed galleries into an unprecedented artistic experience featuring his signature pastel palette of shades of pink and yellow. The first gallery will feature his more traditional 2-d works as well as his new animations. The second gallery, mirroring the two-dimensional space, will lure attendees into a walk through PaperFrank’s colorful, twisted mind to interact with life-sized three-dimensional installations of his characters Jessica, Damien, Korrupt, Frankie, and more!  ??
