Adult Swim's 'Rick and Morty' gets third season
Network's original programming keeps on winning
?The hits keep coming for Adult Swim. This week, the network announced that the hit animated series, "Rick and Morty," is getting picked up for a third season. Airing Sunday nights at 11:30 p.m. (EST), "Rick and Morty" follows boozing uber-scientist Rick Sanchez, and his dimwitted grandson, Morty (both voiced by the show's co-creator Justin Roiland).

?Season two of the Adult Swim original series premiered on Sun., July 26, ranked No. 1 in its time slot, and recorded triple-digit-gains over the prior season. In a statement that went out to the press, "Rick and Morty" co-creator and executive producer Dan Harmon joked about joining the "exclusive club of shows with over nineteen episodes."

?The half-hour series also features voice work from Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell, and Spencer Grammer, as Rick's daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, respectively. "I am blown away by the seemingly instant success of 'Rick and Morty,'" Roiland said in a statement. "I look forward to continuing their adventures."

?The success of "Rick and Morty" adds to an eventful summer for Adult Swim.
