1. A police dog in Woodstock is dead after his owner, a 12-year veteran of the force, allegedly left the animal locked in the backseat of a patrol car. The K-9 appears to have died from heat stroke, though the Woodstock Police Department and Pickens County Sheriff - where the officer lives - are still investigating.

2. Was that Jim Carey? The Dumb and Dumber sequel (Dumb and Dumber To, not to be confused with Dumb and Dumberer) is going to be filmed in Atlanta. Due out in 2014, there’s no word yet on when the shooting will start.

3. The DEA popped some molly in Dekalb County yesterday. Or maybe it was meth. Who knows?

4. Atlanta is getting all sorts of shiny new things. Some tracks are finally in the ground on the street car project, Piedmont Park is expanding, and now BEHOLD! Ferris wheel gravel.

In a unanimous decision, Johns Creek City Council voted to hire a lawyer to investigate it’s mayor following what it calls a series of “questionable decisions.” Tensions came to a head recently over the mayor’s support for turning an old bridge over the Chattahoochee into a pedestrian walkway, a council member told WSBTV.

6. This study says that more than 70 percent of Americans are taking at least on prescription drug, and more than half received at least two prescriptions.
