Ed Loves Bacon - First Look: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Here’s a quick look at the final installments, book seven of the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Yes, I said installments - everyone knows by now that the final book will be done in two parts.

In the Deathly Hallows, Harry (Daniel Radcliff), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) leave Hogwarts School to stop the evil Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). The trio set out on a quest to destroy the dark lord’s horcruxes, three totems that power his resurrection. Here’s HP screenwriter Steve Kloves explanation on why they decided to split the film in two:

I’m sure some will think we’re crazy. My wife looked at me cross-eyed when I first mentioned it. But I’m really excited about it because it should allow us to stretch a bit with the characters and give them the proper send-off. The story is highly emotional and those moments deserve time to breathe. And, personally, I feel we owe it to author Jo Rowling — in order to preserve the integrity of the work — and the fans — for their loyalty all these years — to give them the best and most complete experience possible.

Expect to see the first film, part one in November of 2010, the second and final HP film will be released in July of 2011. This dark and (hopefully) adventure-filled story was helmed by HP veteran director David Yates who directed the two previous films, Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
