The Beignet Connection, which has long been taunting passersby with a “Coming Soon” sign, plans to open on November 19 in the Pencil Factory building on Decatur Street. The upscale Creole spot will serve up New Orleans favorites including gumbos, etouffees, po-boys and, naturally, beignets of both the sweet and savory variety.
The Original El Taco in Virginia Highlands will be open for lunch on weekends beginning this Saturday. Dishes will include all the favorites, plus a few brunch-like twists like the “Mexican Hangover Cure” - chilaquiles topped with an over easy egg.
