Atlanta Magazine catches up with Bruce Logue on life after La Pietra Cucina. Logue’s new venture, BoccaLuppo, will be an Italian-American restaurant with a lower price point than diners came to expect at La Pietra Cucina. One extra cool feature is the pasta bar, which will be the heart of the restaurant. It is an open kitchen similar to a sushi bar, but with live-action pasta making. BoccaLuppo will open by the end of the year.

Nothing says summer like popsicles and booze! Kill two birds with one stone when you partake in Corner Tavern’s new King of Pops collaboration: “Poptails.” Flavors include Strawberry Margarita, Loaded Arnold Palmer, The Bourbon Cowboy (a Corner Tavern specialty cocktail) and for the DD, classic Chocolate Sea Salt. Pops debut on April 20.

Tomorrow’s News Today reports on a pizza feud of epic proportions. Apparently, Antico has filed an intellectual property lawsuit against Fuoco di Napoli. TNT mentions that Lori McDowell is named as a defendant, and the name was familiar to me. McDowell and her family were actually the team behind the Antico Express truck, but now they are running the very similar Fuoco. Perhaps this is why Antico is a bit steamed? Not only did the pizza food truck owner open a similar shop, but she took Antico’s bad-boy chef with her.

A new restaurant called The Corner Taqueria is prepping for opening day in the Smyrna/Vinings area. They’ll serve all the Mexican essentials - a la carte tacos, homemade salsas, fresh margaritas, and more than 40 tequilas. The restaurant will be located on Atlanta Road in the same center as Zucca Pizzeria.
