Joystick Gamebar owners Johnny Martinez and Brandon Ley are planning to open a beer garden in the former Edgewood Animal Clinic space at 420 Edgewood Ave.
Owners said in a statement the Georgia Beer Garden will be a “Southern take on a classic biergarten.” They want it to be “an exclusive platform for Georgia breweries, both the well-established and the newly fermenting.”
There won’t be any TVs in the main beer hall, owners say, but having an area “designed for watching Georgia sports” is part of their plan. They also hope to turn the outdoor space behind the building into “a relaxing spot to idle away the hours” with friends.
The Georgia Beer Garden is currently in its early planning and permitting stage. Martinez and Ley project a summer 2015 opening.
