???Tracy Mitchell, the chef and owner of Emory Village’s Bad Dog Taqueria, is sitting in DeKalb County jail on several charges related to a hit-and-run in Edgewood that left a photographer dead.
?
? According to the Atlanta Police Department, on Nov. 11 officers responded to the 100 block of Arizona Avenue in southeast Atlanta and found Emily Cameron dead on the scene.
?
? “Preliminary investigations indicate that Ms. Cameron was exiting a vehicle when the driver of the vehicle accelerated in reverse knocking Ms. Cameron to the ground and striking her with his vehicle,” an APD report says. “The suspect fled the scene after the accident.
?
? DeKalb County jail records show Mitchel turned herself in later that day to the DeKalb Sheriff’s Office. APD says she’s facing charges of homicide by vehicle felony, reckless driving, and two counts of hit and run.
?
? The Pinewood owner Julian Goglia told Eater Atlanta that Cameron was a food photographer and tended bar at the Decatur restaurant.
?
? “She had her hands in so many awesome projects and businesses,” Goglia told Eater. “We were one of many groups of people that loved her. She was a bartender at Pinewood, a food photographer all over the East Coast, an amazing artist, and one hell of a friend. This makes no sense. We will miss her.”
