One Hundred Cypher

Atlanta’s longstanding monthly freestyle cypher Soul Food Cypher is kicking off the school year with a fundraising initiative that has taken shape as a neighborhood block party. The block party will feature eight DJs, B-boys and B-girls, live graffiti art installations, basketball, face painting, a silent art auction, and a sketch-jam session with 12 local artists contributing sketches. Proceeds will benefit a new after-school program called WordShop, which aims to bring about change concerning issues of income inequality, high-unemployment, and low graduation rates throughout the city.
