Video Video Nasty is proud to bring Zombie Video to JavaVino! Zombie Video will be the first installment of our glit.ch series,which examines the aesthetics of error in video art.
Zombie Video focuses on the DIY hacking of hardware. Plucked from the graveyards of second-hand shops and eBay, artists reanimate retro video mixers, game consoles, and VCR’s. Unchained from the limits of their past lives, these zombified machines create images that are vivid and strange, but always intriguing.
Not only does Zombie Video demonstrate how failure can be beautiful, it also gives way to questions surrounding the dormant capabilities of the machine, rapidly advancing technology, and planned obsolescence.
Zombie Video will also feature live music by Stun Runner; tickets are $7 at the door.
