Art and activism go hand in hand. With Percolate, WonderRoot paired 100 artists and activists together in the hopes of creating pieces that addressed racial justice issues in Atlanta. The pairs went on coffee dates and then had to create a piece of art based off their experience. 50 Shades of Black creator Carlton Mackey and artist Josephine Figueroa made the above image using a disposable camera. Other participants include muralist Peter Ferrari, multimedia artist Niki Zarrabi, KOJA Creative founder Tash Nikol, and Racial Justice Action Center director Xochitl Bervera. Rock organization Punk Black will host a performance following the exhibition opening.
