From the venue:

When the AIDS epidemic began, it seemed that anyone who was diagnosed would surely succumb to the disease in just a few years, if that. More than 30 years later, awareness efforts and advancements in modern medicine have decreased the overall rate of infection and expanded the life expectancy of those living with HIV/AIDS. Still, Georgia law criminalizes acts that could — and some that could not, like spitting and biting — pass HIV on to another person. In honor of World AIDS Day, Georgia Equality, SisterLove, and The Counter Narrative Project will discuss how repealing these laws could help improve education in local communities and reduce the stigma tied to HIV/AIDS.
