With annual spending power estimated at $1.2 trillion, black America’s financial well-being should be guaranteed. But as the independent documentary tBlack Friday chronicles, the mis-education around dollars and sense has had devastating economic effects on the community at large. Just in time for the holiday season, Atlanta-based director Ric Mathis presents Black Friday the Remix, a second look at financial responsibility and the solutions necessary to wealth empowerment. Immediately following this screening, a conversation themed “Occupy the West End” will take place, featuring Mathis, Professor Griff, and others focused on increasing black ownership in the neighborhood.
