The Passion of Christ has been central to the life experience of southern people. Their love and empathy is well recorded in the heartfelt strains of their songs. This unique Passion service is presented in the historic sanctuary of Druid Hills Baptist Church by The Meridian Chorale, Steven Darsey, and Emory Professor Emerita Brenda Bynum. The program is built around folk hymns from the famous 19th century tunebook The Sacred Harp, compiled in Georgia in 1844.
