Martha Whittington’s exhibit Exchange draws inspiration from the early European systems of trade with Native Americans and the erasure of their culture through commoditization and exploitation of their natural resources. The objects in Exchange are paired with a sound collaboration with Rae Long and video along with modern materials (industrial felt, mirrored stainless) and are constructed using early indigenous techniques.
