Atlanta-based multi-instrumentalist sisters Leah and Chloe Smith lead this colorful collective who, as its name suggests, take folksy backwoods mountain music and run it through a diverse blender that includes percussive world beat, R&B, funk, jazz, pop, and even some modest hip-hop. More than just a concert, the group’s rich performances include poetry, burlesque, and circus art for a stimulating experience in sight and sound. As the opening act for the Sun., Dec. 22 show, DubConscious adds reggae, Caribbean, and dub sounds for an already eclectic mix.
