READING TO CATS

Children 6 and older (Grades 1-8) can come to our shelter and read out loud to our cats who are up for adoption. This program is designed to help children sharpen their reading skills and to provide enrichment for our cats and kittens waiting for adoption. The interaction also teaches kids the importance of empathy, animal welfare and community service. Students should bring a book to read and expect to sit on the floor and interact with the cats. There are several dates each month. Online registration is required. Sessions are offered at no charge, but donations are accepted which go to the care of the cats.
