Each piece serves as a testament to the resilience and tenacity inherent in the immigrant experience. Through meticulous brushwork and emotive color palettes, each piece illuminates the cultural richness and shared humanity that unite us all.”

Georgia Artists in the MCMA Permanent Collection
For this featured exhibition, MCMA presents a selection of artwork from our Permanent Collection that aims to acknowledge, study, and celebrate the history of artwork and artists who have been influential in the state of Georgia. Whether the artists were born, worked, or died in the state of Georgia, this exhibition showcases a series of fine artwork by artists who have had varied histories and relevance to our home state.
With this exhibition, we intend to demonstrate the endless connections that exist within our Collection between current local artists and artwork that represents the storied history of arts and culture within our locale. Sourced from the MCMA’s collection of over 600 pieces of American art dating back to the 1700s, this exhibition presents key works of art that commemorate artists who have functioned within the state of Georgia.
