CRITIC’S PICK: Wallace & Gromit: Get Cracking! Children’s Museum of Atlanta - The CMA’s chief kahuna Edwin Link calls this interactive exhibit for kids up to the age of nine “a thrilling blend of creativity, curiosity and endless fun” which will “not only sharpen their problem-solving skills but also discover joy in making mistakes along the way… through the transformative power of play.” Created by British animation company Aardman, the concept features the antics of cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his canine sidekick, the silent but clever Gromit. Hands-on activities include launching porridge from a cannon, repairing Wallace’s malfunctioning Autochef, messing about with eccentric contraptions, and blasting off to the moon in a rocket. Children under the age of three get their own designated Tot Spot so they can safely engage in age-appropriate shenanigans. - Kevin C. Madigan
From the venue:
September 21, 2024 - January 12, 2025
Step into the north England home of cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his loyal and intelligent dog, Gromit. Blast off in Wallace’s rocket to the moon, fix the broken Autochef, design your own cracking contraption and more!
This brand-new exhibit builds on problem-solving skills by encouraging children to playfully solve STEM-based problems in fun and engaging ways.
This exhibit is recommended for children ages 3 through 9 and includes a “tot spot” specifically for children under three years of age.
