CRITIC’S PICK: Thurs. May 1 - Sawyer Hill, The Loft — Only 25 years old, this Alabama-based singer/songwriter’s bellowing voice sounds more mature and wiser. He initially landed on the popular music radar with 2024s “Look at the Time” which nabbed him spots at Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits; all without even an EP to his name. That has now changed with last month’s seven-song release collecting his previous singles, all in an indie rock style that leans towards Americana but with instantly memorable melodies and a strong power pop influence.
