ATLCMC Chamber Orchestra: con-cer-3

CRITIC’S PICK
Sat., Mar. 8
The new chamber music community in Atlanta is more vibrant than ever. How about three captivating concertos for steelpan, saxophone and guzheng, respectively, with orchestra, plus a world premiere from composer Francisco Cardoso de Araujo.
That’s the program for the first chamber music concert of 2025 by the Atlanta Contemporary Music Collective.
/con-cer-3/ features Louis Raymond-Kolker’s steel drum concerto, “Summer Springs,” performed by the composer; Badie Khaleghian’s “Debilitator” for saxophone and orchestra (performed by Dan Phipps); and “bendbreak|mendmake,” a new work for guzheng (Chinese harp) and orchestra composed by CMC Artistic Director Bryan Wysocki (Vicki Lu, soloist).
