"Post Pandemia: A Transformation" Art Exhibition
From the venue:
Join us for a solo art exhibit by Crystal Marshall.
"Post Pandemia; A Transformation" will debut at The Supermarket featuring vestiges of a time since past–some of the works done in 2020 during the time of the pandemic. The artist has an ongoing series called “Blackbody” that brings to focus a post-human existence capturing a shift in power, transition and our own fragility. While in lockdown the artist turned to sculpture and photography to build on the experience as it pertains to blurring the lines between fiction and non-fiction, depicting galactic excursion and inter-dimensional invasion.
The works have more than just a galactical quality, they explore the shared experiences and unprecedented fear during the pandemic–reality itself hijacked. Works on view merge visions of anxieties, and mythological extra-terrestrial beings. Her visions are shown through an unveiled reality. These visions depict transcendental beings who use the host body system at will. The works point out hidden meanings that, at times, disrupt logical structures and prompt engaging dialogues. “Post Pandemia, A Transformation” points out socially relevant themes of social compliance, crisis and the spiritual domain.
