CRITIC’S PICK: Emerging Artist Award Exhibition, Chastain Arts Center Gallery - Spearheaded again by the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, this year’s show at Chastain highlights new awardees Alison Haselden (Media Arts & Film); Edward Holmes (Visual Arts); Joseph Abu (Visual Arts); Kierra Saddler (Fashion Design); Kyoko Thomas (Visual Arts); and Meaghan Novoa (Dance). An opening reception takes place on Thursday, April 3 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The gallery opened in 1978 under the aegis of the city’s Office of Cultural Affairs to exhibit contemporary art by local and national artists. It’s located within two Neo-Classical buildings constructed between 1901 and 1911 that were originally almshouses. Both were designed by Thomas Henry Morgan, known as the ‘Dean of Atlanta’s architects.’ - Kevin C. Madigan

The City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs is thrilled to announce the 2024/2025 Emerging Artist Award Exhibition, a celebration of the extraordinary talent of Alison Haselden, Edward Holmes, Joseph Abu, Kierra Saddler, Kyoko Thomas, and Meaghan Novoa.
Join us for an inspiring opening reception and award presentation on Thurs., April 3, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Chastain Arts Center Gallery.
