Atlanta Shakespeare Company presents Twelfth Night
CRITIC'S PICK:
Sat., Jan. 10 - Sun., 25
Twelfth Night, Atlanta Shakespeare Company - The mythical land of Illyria is the setting for this rather slight comedy in which the protagonists stumble over themselves in a miasma of confusion, delusion, and romantic woe. Subtitled 'What You Will,' the play was written by Shakespeare circa 1601 and first staged the following year to wrap up the Christmas season, hence the title. "If music be the food of love, play on" is one of the more famous lines, spoken by Duke Orsino while lamenting his lovelorn status and yearning for Lady Olivia. The ASC production is directed by Mary Ruth Ralston and features actors Alejandra Ruiz, Niko Carleo, Benedetto Robinson and Anna Holland, among others. The cast and crew will hold a post-show Q&A on Sunday, Jan. 18. - Kevin C. Madigan
