CRITIC’S PICK:
Sat., Nov. 8
Chomp & Stomp, Cabbagetown—This yearly tribute to, and non-profit benefit for, Atlanta’s funky Cabbagetown neighborhood has become one of the city’s premier street festivals. The food/chili cook-off attracts thousands of visitors and the six stages scattered throughout the neighbored present lots of local musicians, many with a heavy country/bluegrass slant. The rooty-toot-tootin’ Blair Crimmins headlines, but there are plenty of talents worth checking out between bowls of hearty, and often spicy, grub.— Hal Horowitz

From the venue:

Chomp & Stomp Atlanta, GA Chili Cookoff & Free Outdoor Music Festival

Since its inception by local neighbors in 2003, Chomp & Stomp has grown into Atlanta’s most highly anticipated fall festival. Beyond the fiercely competitive chili cook-off, lively bluegrass music, Romp 5K run, and vibrant Artist Market, Chomp & Stomp is a vital fundraiser for the Cabbagetown Initiative Community Development Corporation.

What makes Chomp & Stomp even more special is that it’s entirely run by volunteers (join us!), with many hailing from the Cabbagetown neighborhood itself. This deep community involvement ensures that the spirit of the event remains true to its roots.

This 501(c)3 non-profit is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in historic Cabbagetown by maintaining and developing its crucial parks and green spaces, and even provides an emergency home repair fund for residents in need. Your participation in Chomp & Stomp directly supports this beloved National Landmark Historic District.
