Atlanta Blues Society Holiday Party, Dorothy C. Benson Complex - The ABS continues its annual holiday shindig at this Sandy Springs venue. And although the late co-coordinator George Klein and his wife won't be present this year for the first time, there will be plenty of memories for all to share about how much of a force he was on the local blues scene. Music, as usual, is provided by winners of the Atlanta Blues Challenge (Scott Low and Blue Velvet Atlanta), and even without the Kleins, this will be a memorable afternoon. Happy Holidays! The annual Atlanta Blues Society Holiday Party is our way of saying “Thank You” for your support as a member or sponsor.
This year’s holiday party will be in Sandy Springs at the Dorothy C. Benson Multipurpose Complex, Building B, 6500 Vernon Woods Drive, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Non-smoking, kid friendly, plenty of parking, and lots of dancing room! Members and sponsors receive dinner on us and there’ll be door prizes. Santa will be dropping by for a special visit!!
Please bring at least one new, unwrapped toy for the Marines to take back to the Toys for Tots headquarters for distribution to kids in need. We will collect the toys at the entrance to the party. Last year, we sent the Marines on their way with a full vanload — let’s do it again!
Music is what your Atlanta Blues Society is all about, and we’ll have plenty for your listening and dancing pleasure. The winners from this year’s Atlanta Blues Challenge will play for us — our Solo/Duo Winner, Scott Low; and Band Winner, Blue Velvet Atlanta. Rumor has it that Santa George will contribute to the musical festivities, too!
