PHOENIX FLIES 2026 | Stories of Atlanta Scavenger HuntByThe Atlanta Preservation Center FollowCentral Library/Library System HQAtlanta, GASaturday, Mar 7, 2026 at 10 am to Saturday, Mar 7, 2026 at 12 pmOverviewChallenge your sleuthing abilities by following clues to discover the answers to a series of questions about the Stories of AtlantaChallenge your sleuthing abilities by following clues to discover the answers to a series of questions about the Stories of Atlanta, and then gather at Atlanta’s Central to see how well you know downtown Atlanta. Orientation and dissemination of clues and questions will take place on the plaza in front of the Central Library Attendees will be divided into groups of 10, given 8-clues that need answering and allowed 45-minutes to collect the answers. Each group will have the same clues, but the order of the clues will be different for each group to avoid everyone traveling to the same location at the same time. At the expiration of time, attendees will return to the Central Library and, whether all questions have been answered or not, gather in a designated meeting room for an A/V presentation revealing the correct clue answers, and a discussion of their historical significance. All entrants to the Central Library are screened with a “walk-through” metal detector and asked to remove any metal items from their person before screening.Attendees will be divided into three groups. Each group is self-guided.Attendees with friends will be grouped together and not separated (unless they wish to be).We will attempt to ascertain which attendees have a familiarity with the layout of downtown Atlanta and/or its history…with the goal of “balancing” the attendees as fairly as possible. In case of inclement weather, Stories of Atlanta will substitute a presentation about the history of downtown Atlanta.Attendees will gather in front of Fulton County’s Central Library located at the intersection of Carnegie Way and Forsyth Street. There is parking for a fee immediately behind the library at Carnegie Way and Ellis Street. For those taking MARTA, the stop is Peachtree Center station. Exit the station on the southwest side of the tracks and you will be right across Carnegie Way from the Central Library.Challenge your sleuthing abilities by following clues to discover the answers to a series of questions about the Stories of AtlantaChallenge your sleuthing abilities by following clues to discover the answers to a series of questions about the Stories of Atlanta, and then gather at Atlanta’s Central to see how well you know downtown Atlanta.
