Illumine 2026, Oakland Cemetery — The annual immersive art show once again lights up Oakland Cemetery for two consecutive weekends beginning Thursday, Apr. 16, from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. each evening. In partnership with Decatur gallery Cat Eye Creative, the colorful eight-day event will feature the work of late photographer Ralph Eugene Meatyard, digital artist Daniel Phelps and local craftsmen from The Neon Company; others presenting their work are muralists Fabian Williams and Christina Kwan, designer Jordan Graves, light artist Eddie Farr, and SCAD Professor Emeritus Marcia Cohen. Live entertainment, plenty of bars, a pop-up shop and arty workshops are all part of the festivities. — Kevin C. Madigan

As the sun sets, Oakland Cemetery is transformed. Through colorful lighting and art installations by some of Atlanta’s most innovative artists, illumine 2026 will light up the shadows of the night.
We’re excited to once again partner with Atlanta gallery and studio Cat Eye Creative to curate artists, and join us in creating an elevated Oakland after dark experience against the inspiring backdrop of Atlanta’s glittering skyline.
illumine is a fundraiser and your ticket purchase supports Historic Oakland Foundation’s mission to continue preserving, restoring, and beautifying historic Oakland Cemetery for all to enjoy.
2026 artists include Vanna Black, Marcia R Cohen, Eddie Farr, Jordan Graves, Christina Kwan, Ralph Eugene Meatyard (1925 - 1972) presented in partnership with the High Museum of Art, The Neon Company, Daniel Phelps featured on the MAP Rover provided by Downtown Atlanta, Inc, VAYNE, and Fabian Williams.
