Enjoy an evening of original work amplifying modern Chinese American cultural stories in three mini dance dramas. ‘Votes for Women’ portrays a 10,000-person march of 1912, ‘Ribbon Dance of Empowerment’ presents a girl’s journey to self-acceptance and confidence, and ‘We Belong Here’ is a stirring celebration of community and resilience. These Chinese American stories come alive through the dazzling art of dance accentuated by long silk ribbons, fans and movement that fuses centuries-old tradition with contemporary dance, ballet and martial arts. Known for their 1996 Olympic ceremony and 'So You Think You Can Dance' performances, Atlanta Chinese Dance Company welcomes audiences from all backgrounds.
