bio: Wolves, Lower is a Georgia-based tribute project dedicated to the music of R.E.M., one of the most influential bands to emerge from Athens. Drawing from the full arc of R.E.M.’s career - from the jangly urgency of Chronic Town through the era-defining anthems that followed - the band delivers a thoughtful and high-energy exploration of a catalog that shaped alternative rock.
Featuring a collective of seasoned musicians from across the Southeast music scene, Wolves, Lower brings together members of The Bitteroots, Moody Hollow, Bridge Atlantic, the Mike Killeen Band, Jupiter Coyote, Tribute: A Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band, and The Core. With a deep respect for the source material and a shared history rooted in the same musical community that gave rise to R.E.M., the band approaches these songs with both authenticity and fresh perspective.
