SQUEEZE - TRIED, TESTED AND TRIXIES with special guests Adam Ant and Haircut 100

Squeeze, Adam Ant, Haircut 100, Fox Theatre — It’s a retro ‘80s new wave revival as these acts join for a walk down memory lane, especially enticing if you were glued to MTV at the time. The headliners disbanded for a while but are back playing old hits and new tracks from a recent album, Trixies, which they wrote before their 1978 debut but never recorded until last year. Ant will likely stick to his “Antmusic”/“Stand and Deliver”-era popular fare. Haircut 100 never made much of an impact here, but, surprisingly, they have a new release, Boxing the Compass, an unexpectedly fresh, vibrant reinvention of the upbeat pop that yielded 1982s “Love Plus One.” It’ll be a fun night. — Hal Horowitz
